What does Amen mean?

Amen is a Hebrew word which means “it’s true.” So that when you conclude a prayer by saying “amen,” it is as if you were saying: “Lord, all that I have been saying is true, and I believe it with all my heart.”

Why do we attend Mass on Sunday?

The resurrection of Christ happened on Easter Sunday. That is why we gather on Sundays to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ during the Holy Mass. For the Church, Sunday is the first day of the week.

Why do we cross our forehead, our mouth and our heart during Mass?

When the priest or deacon announces the Gospel, we respond by saying, “Glory to you, Lord” and by making three small crosses. We trace the first cross on our foreheads, so that the word of God will enlighten our minds. We trace the second cross on our mouths so that our words will be holy and will proclaim the Gospel to others. We trace the third cross over our hearts so that we will love the Gospel and keep it engraved there always.
